I bought this MPC 1000 in a real bad condition but cheap so I spent some time and love on getting it up to level. Most important was it had JJos2xl installed so with some new shiny parts and some soldering work I got it to where it is now. Alas though it has been sold on to good owner. This marked the end of my miles of cabling/patching and dealing with older 1990's kit for me. I had a huge clear out over the Summer and sold a lot of my older stuff for a move but I invested in an Akai Force. Working in a more streamlined way is far more appealing to me, I dont need the endless hardware headaches, although I kept my sound designing kit pieces like the Sherman FB2 and various pedals and other secret kit-bits ive picked up. The point is less is more for me. The Akai Force is incredible but if/when Akai finally drops the long awaited update , the arranger mode will do it for me tbh - then all will be good - and simpler.
